6000k is a great color.. Mostly white with a hint of blue.. Im running 6000k and so is Quintin I believe.... Since you got projectors now, I would get 55w HID's @7000k.. The higher output will make the 7000k look like 6000k.. If you get the 35w (less output than the 55w) then just go with 6000k.......And a bunch of us here have DDM Tuning HID's.. Slim balasts

+1 on the DDM tuning kits. Got mine for around $55. I have 5000k bulbs; they are about 90% pure white with an ever so slight hint of blue

If i were to do it again, i would get 6000k

I read that 6000k would be good for halogen to have that hint of blue, but for projectors 5000k would be better.

just google 5000k vs 6000k

Its all about personal preference. Do you want something that will most accurately illuminate the road ahead or do you want to have cool colored HIDs that will illuminate a different color and in turn not be the most beneficial?

I believe it has been proven that 4300k is the best color for visually seeing the most you can with your headlights. Anything that strays from this will have detrimental effects as to how well you can see.

That being said, I would stick to as close to that if you want to be able to see the absolute most you can with your retrofit setup. If you want a cool color, I would do 5000k for a fresh crisp white or venture into 6000k if you want blue.

Here is a link that gives you a rough estimate of the description of colors. For 4300k they state that "4,300 Kelvin indicates a white light with a yellow tint. It is fairly close in color to sunlight. In HID lamps, this color gives the most visible light. As it has the best performance, it is generally chosen by car manufacturers because of its high performance."

they say OEM projectors that come with cars like Lexus, Infiniti, BMW, etc run 4300k but still have the hint of blue, not due to the k, but because of the projector.

If ever buy HIDs, I'm getting 5000k.

and nobody else mentions 55w or 30w. anyway, 55w is brighter. but is also the ballast you use for brights not low beams. and bdot, the god in retros told me personally to NEVER use 55w ballasts with projectors

35w will be plenty visibility. no need to outdo it with 55w, pushing the limits on the light, and blinding other drivers., not to mention the chance of asshole cops pulling you over.

Yeah, what Chris said.

HID + Halogen reflectors =/= HID + Projectors

Halogen reflectors scatter all the light towards oncoming cars and gets you pulled over. Projectors have a clear cutoff

Mine was around a week I believe. I ordered DDM Tuning HIDs as well as Depos at the exact same time, and got the HIDs first. Depos took another week to ship (came from Canada). My DDMs shipped from California.
