Ughhhhh Why did they make this one so far away? I mean really... I thought they wanted a central location. Indianapolis would be PERFECT! In the Midwest... freakin' NASCAR loves Indiana. And with gas prices. Omg how can anyone afford to drive that far? So let me get this straight... I have to pay for gas from Michigan to NC, pay for a hotel room, food, and pass to get INTO IA and then drive all the way back? All while walking around with a bunch of ricer fucksticks with their lowered imports and their sweet car club stickers??

So after doing some room research, I found 5 nice places around the track. 2 being right up the road for about $100 a night. And about 3 more hotels around 6 miles away from the track. 2 for about $100 a night and the other seeming super fancy for a bit more.

I'll make a chart with prices and stuff and you can look for yourself and discuss. And if you know me well enough, you know I try to stay at pretty baller places. lol All the ones I looked at had a rating of 8/10 or above. I looked at the dates of 7/27 - 7/29, assuming we'd get there the day before and then leave on that Sunday. Let me know if you want different and I can change it up.

It may seem early to be thinking about this, but these places will fill up FAST and I'm sure some places will hike their prices once we get a little closer to summer. It's best to figure this out now to budget accordingly and be all mature and shit.

Get excited!! Smile

Nice research!

The one we stayed at last year was $100 a night. 3 people to a room at 3 nights is perfect. Dylan and I were talking about taking off work from Thursday until Sunday. Head down Thursday morning, stay Thursday night, all day Friday, meet Saturday, meet Sunday morning, then leave to head back mid day Sunday.

If we can just make sure to get rooms with 2 beds, a shower, and continental breakfast, thats all we really need. Nothing else matters at IA. You're not gonna be using the pool, watching TV, going to the weight room...none of that lol. No need to be fancy pants. And the time that you do spend in the room, you will most likely be intoxicated to the point where you do not remember what the room looks like Evil or Very Mad

Planning is key. Proper planning makes everything go very smoothly. Thats why I'm bummed they released the location and date so late. We already had a hotel booked, money set aside, and our routes planned by this time last year Rolling Eyes

Hannah, post up some links to possible hotels with locations and prices plleeeeeeasssseee Smile

I'm getting pumped for this. Just emailed my manager where I work in the summer and told him to expect a possible Thursday + Friday + weekend needed off, or a Friday + weekend + Monday needed off.

I'm in the works of preparing my car for it already Smile Although it is not the Accord

Secrets out.

Ok, so from what I found is that all the hotels are about $100 a night for that area/time of year. Various ones are $10-$15 cheaper, but the reviews aren't that stellar. (ex: smelly rooms, gross tiny bathrooms, blah blah blah) So I put together a chart of 5 hotels in the area with 8/10 or higher ratings on Priceline.com. Like Q said, 2 beds, bathroom, and breakfast is key. Well, apparently free breakfast is hard to come by down there so only 2 of the ones I highlighted offer it. But everything else seemed nice. My favorite one (obviously) is the middle one because 1. It's 6 miles away 2. The rooms are nice and spacious and they might even have some that can be connected (I can call about that) 3. Breakfast! 4. Restaurant in the hotel itself which makes dinner easy. 5. It's the most expensive and I'm a girl so I like expensive things.
You can google any of these hotel's name and they'll pop right up.
So here we go. Of course, always open for suggestions. Post links on what you find.

Number one and two seem legit. Would you be able to get us your special pricing? Also lol @ number 1 for being right next to Honda, Toyota, and Scion dealerships

Another thing to consider is if we get a hotel that is located next to a major road or highway, our room must face the roadway (for certain reasons Evil or Very Mad)

The first one didn't offer the government discount, and those ones are RIGHT up the road from the track, like a mile or less.

My next choice would be the last one because 1. free breakfast and 2. they are pet friendly and I'm sure this dangerous beast would have to come with us.

DARE YOU! lol

Mmk found the best hotel for what we need, I think.
TownePlace Suites Charlotte University Research Park

You can technically have 6 people in this room because the sofa bed, just a tight squeeze. (Giggity)
So the suites are 2 bedrooms, each containing a queen size bed (4 people right there) plus a sofa bed (1 person, or 2 extremely comfortable people) and the bathroom and a kitchen area. (Cheeseburger pie can be made) They have what they call a "grab-and-go" breakfast that I anticipate is best known as free cereal and bananas. If you want a "real" breakfast, I'll buy you some eggos to microwave in the room.

Close to the highway... straight shot to the meet!
Restaurants within a mile: Red Robin, On the Border, Panera, TGIFriday's, PF Chang's... so you can eat whatever the heck you want.

But ok. HERE'S SOME MATH, KIDS! This is for 3 nights! Thursday night - Sunday afternoon.
484.76 / 5 people = $96.95 per person
484.76 / 6 people = $80.79 per person
FOR THE WHOLE WEEKEND.

Hello, super deal.

P.S. I call shotgun on a bedroom.

I'm not going for necessities... I'm going for price and location, bro. lol

This is a TWO bedroom deal. And honestly, this is a bare hotel compared to others around. And this price.
If you want to be in one, single, small room with 3 other people and still pay $120 a night after taxes, that's fine with me. That still works out to be $90 a person. But I like spaaaaace. hahaha 2 bedrooms and "living area" or whatever you want to call it sounds mighty fine to me!

From talking to my friend in Kentucky who plans on going, it's going to be big with a lot of the locals that went last year + more from the southern states. He's booking his room this weekend and I would definitely like to get this sorted and put behind me by the end of the month so I can start saving up for gas.
