Heres the low down:
I have a '08 Accord EX Sedan i4 with dual Magnaflow 14832 added after the stock resonator. I plan on getting an aftermarket resonator but from the 2nd cat to the new resonator I want bigger piping to make my exhaust louder. Stock size is 2.25 I believe and I wanna know if i should go 2.5" or 3" in piping diameter till I get to the aftermarket resonator.
I will be getting an 18" length bottle style resonator with 4" diameter. It depends on now with the pipe sizing from 2nd cat to this resonator:
Your thoughts/opinions?

Go with a 2.5" max. 3" will cause droning on a stock 4 banger Honda. I honestly think you shouldn't touch anything and just put a test pipe in to make it louder.

want it louder just cut out the stock resonator and straight pipe it, it wont be rediculous as long as you have a nicer muffler

Nooooo, i4s without resonator with any exhaust rasps and sounds like rice. Only the v6s sound nice. I heard the clips form other 8th gens i4 vs v6 with resonator delete

Yeah but like I said, Depends on what kind of muffler you have

Ha, sorry. I'll post a video up soon. I have it all edited but I'm adding more clips as I update my exhaust
First I got dual Magnaflow 14832 mufflers. It was deep and sounded nice but was extremely restricted. So I ened up deleting the OEM resonatorr. It made the tone nice and deep till 6100 rpm. At that, I got rasp and it was the ricer type of rasp. Also I had crazy drone which put my 1 year old son to sleep but woke him up the next minute.
So, I ended up buying a 12" Vibrant resonator and I cut out my 2nd catalytic convertor in place of it. It eliminated 90% of the drone but rasped extremely loud at 3800rpm. I then bought the 18" Vibrant resonator and I slapped that on the rear right before the Y-split to the mufflers. This killed all drone and all rasp. The exhaust sounds so well tuned and it proudly exhibits what a Magnaflow can really do.
Now I do want it louder and deeper so I will soon extend my piping from the stock 2.25" piping to 3" from the 12" resonator where the 2nd catalytic converter used to be to the 18" in the rear. I'm currently thinking about if I should replace the 12" resonator with the 3" piping too cause bigger piping gives a louder and slightly deeper tone. If I the 12" resonator delete provides any rasp or drone, I'm dropping it back in.
