Instructions:
First things first, the rear bumper has to be taken off
- To do this, there are about 6 push clips on top of the bumper in between the tail lights. Take these out.
- Next, there is a bolt inside each wheel well that connects the corners to the quarter panel. Remove these.
- Next, undo the ~4 clips on the underside of the bumper.
- After all bolts and clips are removed, it's time to remove the bumper. It is easier to remove with 2 people with one person on each side of the bumper. Pull outward on the sides, and unclip the harness for the sidemarkers.
- At this point, the bumper lifts off completely
*Note: Although not required, I would recommend removing the outer tail lights
The next thing to do is locate the etched template on the inside of the bumper. Mine had a template for the left side as well as the right side.
Using a silver sharpie, highlight this template so it is easier to see when cutting. Place painters tape on the outside of the bumper, being sure to cover the entire cutting surface
To cut, we used a Dremel with different cutting tools. Cutting from the inside, carefully follow the template to cut out the hole in the bumper
Remove the tape, and align the bumper back over the bumper support
With the hole cut out and the bumper placed back on the car, mark where you will need to cut the bumper support. Pull back the bumper to reveal where you need to cut the bumper support. (you will also need to cut the styrofoam as well)
This part takes patience, but is necessary. Cut the bumper support along where you made your markings. Be sure to wear gloves and long sleeves, as the plastic is very itchy
At this point, install the rear fog light into the bumper cover
With the bumper support cut and the fog installed in the bumper cover, place the bumper cover back on the car to test fit, remembering to install the styrofoam before you do this part. Some test fitting/removal/cutting may be necessary to insure proper fit
Reinstall all the hardware to secure the bumper, step back and enjoy your new rear fog light
