| Cleaning engines is a hassle Mine took almost 3 hours to clean everything up before the GLA/CPC Spring Meet. But.......I hadn't cleaned it at all since I bought the car back in 2007 | |

| Im tellin ya guys you gotta use Simple green
Go to car wash self service (if your cars drivable) shut off car cover air intake filter if you got an SRI, cover alternator, cover distributer cap
make sure engine bay is dry, dont prespray take bottle of simple green..
completely douse engine bay in every nook and cranny except where you covered areas up.
let it sit for a minute. dont let it dry
Re douse entire engine bay with simple green. let it sit for a couple min.
during that couple minutes, go pump a few bucks into the machine and put the sprayer on full blast.
spray down engine bay extremely well with the pressure washer, spraying in all the places you doused with simple green. just making sure you dont spray the areas you have covered up.
after the foaming is gone, make sure to spray down the sides of the car cause the simple green will spray up on the body when your washing it off.. remove your covers from engine area and start the car to make sure it starts.
turn car back off and dry off engine bay components so they dont water spot
Close the hood and wash the rest of your car
after the wash, recheck for water to clean up in the engine bay
You can do this at home too if you have a high pressure hose or pressure washer but do it where the ground is shitty cause any degreaser will stain concrete or cement | |
