I wanna do a frankenstein swap in my '94 Prelude but i really dont know much about it. I have already posted on preludepower.com, and honda-tech.com, and no one has really gave me any help. Does anyone on here know anything such as a parts list, things i have to do to the block, etc.

Any help would be nice.

if that's the case. i'm asuming you have a S prelude. puting a h head on a stock f block is not the best idea.

1. your comp will drop to adout 8.5:1. witch is no good for a head made for higher reving.
2. the h has a bore of 87mm and the f is 85mm. you can get away with it, but not for long.
3. the money you spend to get done half right you could get a h23 eng or mod the f and run a h22 or h23 tranny, and have a faster car.

just something to think about

Dont get me wrong, id love to have to h23 in my prelude, but i just want her on the road again. if i can save a lot of money with just using my f23 head, i will. My lude is wayyyyy to clean to have her sitting in a garage. =/

I think the h23 would look sickkkk under the hood of my lude. But im on a limited budgit. lol.

the head should bolt on, but it wouldn't be worth it IMO. SOHC VTEC heads aren't really proformanced based. if you F22 is running i'd say stick with that.

get the head rebuilt and have milled. a bisimoto or delta cam, h23 IM with a IAB double stack, and a tuneable ecu, and lastly a h22 or h23 tranny.

if you have you heart set on a frank swap. i could help you put together a G23 non-vtec, there are a few f23 eng showing up a pick a part now hopefully there will still be some when i get some money.

Eee that prelude is sick. Y don't you trade one of those heads for a f22 head. Easiest cheapest way I think. And the f22 has way more potential.

If your going to Frankenstein the prelude, what is already in it? Are you gonna build an N/A engine or Turbo it? Build a F22 or F23 bottom end and put the H22 head on it with upgraded cams, like Bisimoto.

The F22 or F23 bottom end is far more desireable because it has cast iron sleeves and is way stronger than the H22 block.

Sell what? lol.

And i never really thought about tradeing one of those heads for a f22a1 or a6 head. I might put an add up on craigslist or ask around to my friends. Thanks for the idea. =]

i don't if you feel like making the drive, but at the pick a part here you could get a head for about $40.00, IM @ $25.00, and a ecu @ $ 35.00

he has a S trim lude, it comes with a f22a eng. the F are good but come with there own set of problems. the H22 & 23 are close deck block better suited for high HP. only problem is FRM sleeves. and the only way around that is to buy special piston made to work with the sleeves. and that's only if they are in good shape cause FRM sleeves can't be bored out.

with F blocks the sleeves are iron and can be bored to about 1.5mm safely. buttttttt, they have a open deck design, under higher HP they can shift. turning your freshly built eng in to a handy boat anker. you can use sleeve guard and sleeve pegging. but if done wrong will cause hot spots & eng failure.

f23 rod are not strongest so i wouldn't use stock one for more than 250-300 HP. and aftermarket rods are over $800.

Read this on why you should mate the f23 bottom end with an H22 head

http://www.importtuner.com/tech/impp_0902_k24_vtec_versus_g23_vtec_tech_knowledge/index.html

Use that list, but use an H series transmission and axles instead
